BMW moves forward with new plant in Mexico

BMW started construction on a new factory in Mexico, becoming the latest automaker to head south of the border.

The company's new factory, located in San Luis Potosi, is expected to ready for production in 2019.

The factory would build the BMW 3 Series at an estimated pace of 150,000 cars per year.

BMW is investing roughly $1 billion in the plant, which would employ 1,500.
