Blunt is scheduled to unveil this year’s communities at noon at the Governor’s Conference on Economic Development at University Plaza.
The DREAM initiative aids cities with downtown revitalization efforts by providing financial and technical assistance through state agencies. The program began in 2006 and drew nearly 100 applications; 10 cities were selected for assistance.
Cities chosen to participate are educated on various incentive packages and could receive assistance with feasibility studies that often precede redevelopment plans.
The DREAM initiative is led by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, which works closely with the Missouri Housing Development Commission and Missouri Development Finance Board to help selected communities.
