Blue Cross Blue Shield pulls out of Missouri exchange

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City is pulling out of the federal health care exchanges in Missouri and Kansas next year.

The announcement follows Aetna's notice earlier this month it would drop out of all exchanges in 2018.

In a statement, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City President and CEO Danette Wilson said the company lost more than $100 million on the exchanges through 2016.
