Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City CEO steps down

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City President and CEO David Gentile is retiring, the company announced Monday.

According to the Kansas City Business Journal, Gentile worked for the insurance company for more than 23 years and took the helm in December 2010.

A spokesman told the journal Gentile will focus on his health after experiencing back pain.
