Blue Bell again recalls ice cream over listeria worries

Blue Bell is again worried about potential listeria contamination.

The Brenham, Texas-based company yesterday announced it's recalling packages of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. A batch of edible cookie dough that Blue Bell gets from a third-party supplier, Aspen Hills, may contain listeria. The bacteria can be deadly for the young, sick or elderly.

Last year, the company laid off employees for the first time in its 100-year history after temporarily shutting down due to a listeria outbreak linked to its products.
