BKD subsidiary named top firm for assets under management

BKD Wealth Advisors LLC has been listed for the fifth consecutive year on Accounting Today's list of the Top Firms by Assets Under Management.

The wealth management services subsidiary of BKD LLP was placed on the list's billion-dollar club for assets under management of $1.95 billion. BKD Wealth Advisors, which employs 35 under President Jack Thurman, had the ninth highest amount of assets under management on the 2012 list. Southfield, Mich.-based Plante Moran Financial Advisors, with assets under management of $7.4 billion, topped the list.

“We have been very fortunate to have grown to this size during the last 12 years, considering the volatility of markets during that period,” Thurman said in a news release. “This is a testament to the quality of professionals we have been able to hire and retain.”

Earlier this month, BKD LLP was listed on Inside Public Accounting's Best of the Best Firms list, with fiscal 2012 revenues of $401.8 million, 244 partners and 1,847 staff members, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
