BKD retains rating among top 100 public accounting firms

BKD LLP has retained its No. 12 spot among the top 100 public accounting firms in the country.

Released yesterday, Inside Public Accounting's 2015 list ranks firms based on net revenue.

The Springfield-based accounting firm posted fiscal 2014 revenue of $496.5 million, a 7.4 percent increase compared to 2013, according to the list. Under CEO Ted Dickman, the company operates 34 offices.

The top five rated firms in 2014 stayed in place, as well. They are:
    •    Deloitte LLP of New York, $14.9 billion in revenue;
    •    PricewaterhouseCoopers of New York, $11.7 billion;
    •    Ernst & Young LLP of New York, $9.9 billion;
    •    KPMG LLP of New York, $6.9 billion; and
    •    McGladrey LLP of Chicago, $1.6 billion.

BKD had held a spot on the top 10 for 12 years until 2013, when the company was bumped from No. 10 to No. 12. It peaked at No. 7 in 2001, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
