BKD creates Benefit Plan Consulting division

BKD LLP has folded its employee benefit services group into a new division of BKD Wealth Advisors LLC.

The new Benefit Plan Consulting division focuses on providing companies with employee benefit plan services such as plan design, implementation, compliance testing, regulatory filings and investment management. Benefit plans can include 401(k), defined benefit, profit sharing, employee stock-ownership plans and 403(b) tax-sheltered annuity plans.

BKD administers more than 700 benefit plans and has more than $1 billion in assets under management, according to a news release.

Benefit Plan Consulting is under the leadership of Principal Steve Toomey, who also oversees Wealth Advisors' Kansas City and St. Louis regional practices.
