Springfield-based BKD LLP is entering the Rogers, Ark., market via acquisition, officials announced last week.
An agreement reached with Mark Lundy and his firm, Lundy Allard & Co., will bring under BKD's umbrella four certified public accountants, 10 staff and $1.2 million in revenue, a BKD news release said. Lundy's office, which focuses on tax and audit services for clients in the manufacturing, distribution, not-for-profit and government industries, will transition to BKD this month, adding to the Springfield firm's presence in Arkansas. BKD already operates offices in Fort Smith, Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Ark.
The Lundy Allard deal took several years to materialize.
"We first met with BKD in 2005 about partnering for referrals," Lundy said in the release. "As time went on, we began to talk about additional possibilities because we had some that required more resources. Given the growth in the area, this is a great fit, especially for our existing and potential clients."
BKD, which is among the 10 largest CPA and advisory firms in the country with net revenues of $350 million, operates 31 offices and employs more than 2,000, including approximately 250 partners. The firm provides consulting, tax, assurance, accounting outsourcing, information technology, investment advisory and corporate finance services, as well as specialized consulting for several industries.
BKD ranked third among 15 large-size firms in Accounting Today magazine's list of the "Best Accounting Firms to Work For" published in the January issue.[[In-content Ad]]
