The value of bitcoin dropped to a six-week low on Tuesday over fears of a crackdown on the cryptocurrency market in China.
The drop put bitcoin below $12,000 for the first time since Dec. 5. It was trading at $11,183 early this morning.
Other cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum and Ripple, also were down significantly.
