Billy Long to chair Drury jobs fair

Posted online
U.S. Representative Billy Long, R-Mo., will visit Springfield Oct. 18 to serve as the honorary event chairman for a jobs fair at Drury University.

“Right now times are tough, but there are still good jobs out there,” Long said in a news release from the school. “It is not the bureaucrats in Washington, but local employers who are going to get this country back on track.

"I encourage everyone who is looking for a job, or a better job, to come on down and take a look.”

More than 30 employers will have a presence at the fair. The event, which is open to the public, will be held 1-4 p.m. in the Findlay Student Center Ballroom.

“Some of the organizations represented are trying to fill openings that require a high school education, while others have positions that require a bachelor’s degree or higher," said Jill Wiggins, director of career planning and development at Drury, in the release.
