Billion-dollar real estate startup expands to KC

Opendoor, a billion-dollar real estate startup from San Francisco, is expanding to Kansas City.

The company buys homes from sellers, making an offer after deducting service, repair and closing costs from the customer's proceeds. It then resells the residences.

Opendoor earlier this month launched in St. Louis, expanding its reach to more than 30 U.S. markets.
