Billings-based fabrication contractor Solid Surface Designs has been awarded a $675,000 Missouri Linked Deposit Program loan from Treasurer Clint Zweifel's office.
Solid Surface Designs, which employs 40 people, will use the funding to expand operations at its 233 Lambeth Road headquarters. The company fabricates and installs custom countertops, showers, bath surrounds and fireplaces.
“Despite the difficult economic times, homeowners and businesses are making investments in their properties that ensure they will maintain their value,” said John Boyd, owner of Solid Surface Designs, in the release. “Those investments and this loan give me optimism, the optimism it takes to make long-term capital commitment.”
The treasurer's office partnered with Mid-Missouri Bank to offer the loan.
“Small businesses need all the help they can get during these difficult times and businesses like Solid Surface Designs help others expand," said Dan Derges, Mid-Missouri Bank community president in Springfield, in the release.
Through the Missouri Linked Deposit Program, managed by the treasurer's office, qualified borrowers - businesses with less than 100 employees - generally save roughly 30 percent on the cost of the loan, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
