In an effort to preserve the city’s interest in the project, the ordinance would authorize the city to: modify or terminate agreements related to the redevelopment of the building and its adjoining parking garage; acquire or facilitate the acquisition of the building; and authorize the execution of documents related to the project.
The redevelopment project has been ongoing for nearly two years and came to a standstill Aug. 22, when developer Vaughn Prost’s exclusive building rights expired. The city subsequently sent requests for qualifications to prospective developers; the deadline for those requests is 5 p.m. today.
