Bill Gates will lead new $1B clean energy fund

Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, is leading a $1 billion investment fund in clean energy. 

He is joined by Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO; Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group; and Jack Ma, executive chairman of Alibaba.  

The 20-year fund dubbed Breakthrough Energy Ventures will invest in companies and technologies that have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and are making innovations in electricity, transportation, agriculture, manufacturing and architecture.
