Bill Gates launches multibillion-dollar clean energy fund

Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates is set to announce his latest endeavor, the Breakthrough Energy Coalition, at the climate change summit in Paris alongside President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande.

The group comprises over two dozen public and private entities, including national governments, billionaire philanthropists, investment fund managers and tech CEOs.

Among its goals, the Breakthrough Energy Coalition is asking governments and businesses to spend more on carbon-free energy development.
