Big Whiskey's to enter Florida market

Big Whiskey’s penned a deal to enter the Florida market.

Nosnaws Corp., a Florida-based IHOP franchisee, penned a three-store deal with the Ozark restaurant chain, according to a news release.

"Florida has been a top priority for us for several years, and we’re thrilled to have established this partnership with such an experienced group who continually brings successful concepts to the region," said Paul Sundy, founder and chief operating officer of Big Whiskey's, in the release. "We’ve always felt like we would do great in Florida, and now’s our chance to prove it.”

Nosnaws Corp. formed a subsidiary, Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar and Whiskey’s Florida LLC, to operate the restaurant brand in the state. The first restaurant is scheduled to open in Broward County in southeast Florida by the end of 2022, followed shortly by two others in the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County area.

Nosnaws Corp.'s restaurant development group, NOS Development LLC, has secured a site at Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise, Florida, for its first Big Whiskey's restaurant, according to the release. The 6,300-square-foot space, which previously held a concept called The Knife, will be overhauled to make way for the Big Whiskey's with 230 seats, a private dining area and 60 employees.

Big Whiskey's store project costs can range from $700,000 to $3 million, depending on whether the building is owned or leased, according to the company's website. The company has around a dozen locations in four states.
