Big Whiskey's franchisee sets August opening date for Kentucky restaurant

The franchisees behind a Big Whiskey's restaurant announced in summer 2024 are scheduled to open the eatery next month in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Franchisees Lisa and Alan Lawrence, who signed on with the Ozark-based restaurant chain last year, have set an Aug. 15 grand opening for the Owensboro restaurant, according to a news release. The 234 Frederica St. restaurant is located in an area just south of the Ohio River. 

"We are thrilled to finally bring Big Whiskey’s to Owensboro," Alan Lawrence said in the release. “This community has such an incredible energy, and we’re excited to be a part of it by providing a place where friends and families can come together for great food and good times."

Big Whiskey's website lists 18 restaurants, with four eateries coming soon.

In March, Big Whiskey's announced it had inked a three-store deal with franchisees Tony and Mary Cook to expand the restaurant chain to Texas, according to past reporting. 

Franchisee Nosnaws Corp. opened a Big Whiskey's restaurant in Davie, Florida, early this year.
