Big Lots narrows loss

Ohio-based discount retailer Big Lots reported a third-quarter net loss of $1.5 million, or 3 cents a share, compared to a $3.4 million, or 6 cents a share, loss a year earlier.

The results included a $1 million expense for the termination of a legacy pension plan.

Revenue ticked up to $1.1 billion.
