The 10 a.m.-2 p.m. job fair at the lodge's Grandview Conference Center will offer a mix of full- and part-time jobs, as well as seasonal positions, said Sydney Friar, public relations manager for Big Cedar. A flyer provided to Springfield Business Journal advertises such positions as activities coordinator, shuttle driver, housekeeping room attendant and groundskeeper.
Friar said while all of the Big Cedar crew - some 500 to 600 employees - is preparing for the upcoming Legends of Golf tournament, the March 1 fair isn't seeking positions just to cater to the PGA Tour crowd. Friar said she was unsure if further hirings would be needed for the June 2-8 tournament. The company is recruiting volunteers for the event, according to

Friar said Big Cedar is nearly sold-out for the tournament. The 800-acre property includes three lodge facilities with a combined 240 rooms, as well as more than 80 private cabins, she said.
Earlier this week, Morris' Bass Pro Shops, PGA officials and others announced the Springfield company will be the five-year title sponsor for the Legends of Golf tournament. It will be held at Top of the Rock golf course at Big Cedar Lodge and the nearby, newly renamed Buffalo Ridge course, both owned by Morris.
