Big Cedar Lodge topped Golf Magazine’s inaugural list of the best golf resorts for families.
Touting the Ridgedale resort’s Ozarks beauty, Golf Magazine officials said “the young resort has quickly become one of the country’s preeminent golf destinations.” Golf Magazine’s methodology included an online poll and the opinions of staff members and industry experts.
Rounding out the top five are Colonial Williamsburg Resort in Virginia; The Retreat in Seneca, Oregon; French Lick Resort in Indiana; and Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. Big Cedar is the only Missouri resort on the list.
Big Cedar, according to a news release, is a 4,600-acre wilderness resort with four golf courses: Top of the Rock, Mountain Top Course, Ozarks National and Buffalo Ridge. A fifth, Payne’s Valley, is scheduled to be unveiled in 2020 by Big Cedar and Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris and professional golfer Tiger Woods.
Golf Magazine, according to its website, has a circulation of 1.2 million and a total audience of 4.2 million.
