Big Cedar Lodge to debut new Cliffhangers course next month

A new golf course is slated to open next month at Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale.

The launch date for the 18-hole par-3 golf course called Cliffhangers is scheduled for July 4, according to a news release.

Cliffhangers, created by Big Cedar Lodge and Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris and son JP Morris, features elevation changes and holes ranging from 60 to 170 yards along limestone cliffs and creeks. Players will drive carts through waterfalls, across creeks and through a cave system, and a tee shot is set up inside the cavern through a waterfall.

“This is golf on the edge – literally,” Johnny Morris said in the release. “We wanted to create something that celebrates the natural wonder of the Ozarks while delivering an unforgettable adventure for every golfer.”

On 35 acres, Cliffhangers was developed at an undisclosed cost, according to a spokesperson. Development took about six years for the project that started as a practice facility.

The sixth course at Big Cedar Lodge, Cliffhangers is located adjacent to Payne’s Valley, which opened in 2020 in partnership with Tiger Woods' TGR Design.
