Two groups who share a mission to give children positive role models have merged.
Joplin-based Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jasper and Newton Counties announced its merger with Springfield-based Big Brother Big Sisters of the Ozarks Wednesday.
Organization leaders say the pairing is a logical step in growth, offering more opportunities to match children with mentors, according to a news release.
Ryan Springer, vice president of Community Bank & Trust and president of the board for the Joplin Big Brothers Big Sisters, said in the release that the merger will enable the group to maintain existing business partnerships and build new relationships.
"The Springfield board of directors is thrilled to work with the Joplin Big Brothers Big Sisters agency and to have the opportunity to serve the children of Jasper and Newton counties," said Denise LeBolt, board president for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, in the release.[[In-content Ad]]
