Joe Biden enlisted former U.S. Treasury Secretary Larry Summers as an adviser to his presidential campaign, people familiar with the matter told Reuters.
Summers previously ran President Barack Obama's National Economic Council amid the 2008 financial crisis.
He also led the Treasury Department during the Clinton administration. During that time, he controversially backed banking deregulation.
