The city of Springfield is accepting bids on the second batch of city-owned surplus property.
The second group has seven lots available, part of the 64 listings the city will eventually offer. Bidding will be open until 3 p.m. on Nov. 30.
There are six properties zoned single-family residential:
1735 N. Clay Ave.;
827 S. Weaver Ave.;
916 S. Market Ave.;
2305 W. Nichols St.;
2632 W. Brower St.; and
2808 W. Olive St.
Also up for sale is property at 900 W. College St., which is zoned as a commercial services district. The city notes that this plot is 50 feet wide and could be difficult to develop.
Complete bid documents for the group, as well as Group 1, are available at the city Web site. The city is still taking bids on Group 1 properties through Thursday at 3 p.m. Potential bidders on either group also can contact the city Purchasing Department.
Net sale proceeds will go back to the fund from which each property was purchased, up to the amount of the purchase price. Springfield City Council has stated its intention to put any additional proceeds into the Police and Fire Pension Fund.
