In the midst of the dog days of summer I have little enthusiasm this week for a serious Rusty Saber topic. Please note that I am now inserting tongue in cheek.
There are many stories that we all know, but in the words of Paul Harvey, we may not know the "rest of the story." The Rusty Saber has researched these stories in order to tell you things I'll bet you didn't know.
We all know the Old Testament story about how Lot and his family were allowed to leave Sodom and Gomorrah before God destroyed both cities. We know that Lot's wife, contrary to God's instructions, looked back and was turned in to a pillar of salt. Why salt? Why not a pillar of oregano?
God said salt, so salt it was.
The part of the story you probably haven't heard is this: As Lot and his wife and family were walking away from a burning Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot's wife loudly complained about having to leave.
