Dressed in an indigo Nehru jacket, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on Wednesday pledged a $1 billion investment in India during a gathering in New Delhi.
“We’re making this announcement now because it’s working," said Bezos, speaking to local Amazon sellers. "And when something works, you should double down on it."
Meanwhile, India on Monday ordered an investigation into whether Amazon and Walmart Inc.'s Flipkart violated competition laws.
