Best Buy posts profit despite continued sales declines

Electronics retailer Best Buy is showing signs it can compete in a market that is increasingly going online.

USA Today reports the company posted second-quarter earnings of $146 million, down 41 percent from $248 million profits in the same quarter a year earlier. However, according to the report, earning per share were 44 cents during the quarter, up 10 cents from a year ago.

Revenue fell 3.2 percent to $8.9 billion during the quarter, and sales in stores dropped by 3.2 percent.
