Best Buy yesterday announced it would furlough around 51,000 employees.
CEO Corie Barry said the company is "making the difficult decisions necessary to ensure that at the end of this crisis Best Buy remains a strong, vibrant company.”
Impacted employees, comprising hourly and part-time store workers, will continue to receive health benefits for up three months. Best Buy also created a $10 million employee assistance fund to help those impacted by COVID-19.
