Bernie Sanders calls for sovereign wealth fund for AI

Sen. Bernie Sanders filed the American A.I. Sovereign Wealth Fund Act.

The proposal would give the public a direct stake in the largest artificial intelligence companies.

The bill calls on a one-time 50% tax, paid in stock, on companies with more than $200 million in annual AI-related receipts, according to Forbes. Under the proposal, direct payments would go toward Americans from the fund.
