Bearship One ready to fly

One of the highlights of the Southwest Missouri State University men's and wo-men's basketball season is Bearship One, the colorful, 13-foot-long, 5-foot-wide blimp that floats, hovers and dips above the crowd at each home game.|ret||ret||tab|

The people behind Bearship One are the husband-and-wife team of Gary and Karen Wallace of Springfield. |ret||ret||tab|

The Wallaces will be operating the remote-control craft again this season for 31 Bears and Lady Bears home games. This is the couple's seventh year of putting the blimp through its paces, Gary Wallace said. He added, "It's pretty tricky, but we love it."[[In-content Ad]]
