Highland Springs Country Club was transformed into a beach resort July 27 for Developmental Center of the Ozarks’ 3rd annual Malibu Beach Bash. The event met DCO’s $50,000 fund-raising goal. The event, attended by more than 260 people, featured live and silent auctions for several prizes, including a four-day wine tour, a VIP dinner for eight with Chef Tony Garcia of Avanzare, and two tickets to the NASCAR event in Bristol, Conn., Aug. 24-25. DCO officials say the funds go directly toward therapy for the 800 developmentally disabled children and adults the organization serves. Interactive Hotel Solutions was presenting sponsor; Springfield Business Journal also was a sponsor.
