BBB honors businesses for ethical practices

Posted online
The Better Business Bureau of Southwest Missouri late last week honored three companies with Torch Awards for ethical business practices.

During its annual awards event March 5, the organization gave out awards to one business apiece in small, medium and large categories. Roughly 330 people attended the event at Ramada Plaza Hotel & Oasis Convention Center, 2546 N. Glenstone Ave. Only for-profit businesses were judged based on custom service and leadership, as well as marketplace trust and excellence, according to a news release.

Mr. Electric of SWMO earned the small-business Torch award, earmarked for companies with five or less employees. Other finalists were American Heritage Carpet Cleaning and Document Solutions of Springfield.

Winning the medium category - six to 20 employees - was DL Media. Finalists included Accounting & Tax Management Services LLC and LifeMark Bath & Home Solutions, according to the release.

For large businesses with at least 21 employees, the winner was Creekside at Elfindale. The other two finalists were Atlas Security Service and Branson Tourism Center.

“The BBB Torch Award is designed to promote not only the importance of ethical business practices, but also the willingness and efforts made by outstanding businesses to ensure that our country’s marketplace remains fair and honorable for all consumers and businesses,” the release says.[[In-content Ad]]
