Bayer to cut 12,000 jobs

Bayer AG announced Thursday it would slash 12,000 jobs worldwide.

Included in that total is 4,200 as a result of merging Monsanto into its operations after buying the U.S. company for $63 billion in July.

Bayer plans to complete the layoffs by the end of 2021.
