Bayer AG has stepped up its legal defense of weed killer Roundup. The product is made by Monsanto, which Bayer owns.
Bayer is asking a California state court judge to throw out a $289 million verdict awarded in August.
The jury in the case ruled unanimously in favor of a former groundskeeper who claimed he developed cancer from using the weed killer.
