Bayer may invest billions in US

German chemical giant Bayer AG has promised U.S. President-elect Donald Trump it will spend billions of dollars on research and development in the United States. But there's a catch.

That's only if its planned purchase of St. Louis-based Monsanto is approved by regulatory bodies.

Last Wednesday, Bayer CEO Werner Baumann and Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant met with Trump and his senior transition team over the plans, according to Fox Business.
