Rector has been hired as Ozarks Technical Community College’s vice president for administrative services, according to an OTC news release. He begins May 27.
Rector worked with Simon Property Group as the mall’s manager for more than five years, overseeing a major redevelopment that introduced lifestyle center shopping at the mall. He brings 19 years of property management experience to the school, according to the release.
Rector is vice chairman of membership services and a board of directors member for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the executive board and board of directors for the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau, and a member of the Citizens Advisory Council for City Utilities of Springfield.
“Rob has an extensive background in retail and facilities management that are a great fit for this position,” OTC President Hal Higdon said in the release.
Rector replaces David Roling, who held the position for three and a half years and left to become Springfield branch manager for Kennedy ESS Contractors earlier this year.
A search for Rector's replacement at the mall is under way, according to Marketing Manager Christine Moses. The position is posted at the Simon Web site.
