Bass Pro's Pyramid taking shape

Despite recent signs of progress on Bass Pro Shops' Pyramid store in Memphis, it’s unclear where the project stands in relation to a previously forecast Christmas season 2014 opening date.

Bass Pro spokeswoman Tammy Sapp told the Commercial Appeal it would likely be in October when the Springfield-based outdoor retailer provides a definitive progress report on the project partially funded by Memphis taxpayers.

“Right now, nothing much to share,” Sapp said. “We want to make sure we get our ducks and turkeys in a row. Just know that we’re working hard and we’re excited, because it’s going to be really grand.”
