Bass Pro weekend draws runners from 41 states

Bass Pro Shops' annual Marathon Weekend Expo is reportedly drawing runners from 41 states.

Ranging in age from 5 to 82, some 4,000 runners have signed up, according to the Springfield News-Leader.

Susan Wade of the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau estimated the out-of-town visitors will spend on average $125 to $150 per person on food, fuel, hotels and incidentals during their stay. Of the 4,000 runners, about 2,600 are coming from out of town, according to the News-Leader.

Weekend running events start with the Camo Color Run at 9 a.m. Saturday. Sunday will see marathons and other running events.
