Bass Pro to open second store in N.C.

Posted online
Bass Pro Shops has set a late 2013 or early 2014 date to open its second store in North Carolina.

The Cary, N.C., store - announced last week - would be a 105,000-square-foot Sportsman's Center located along Interstate 40. According to a news release, the state is popular with anglers and hunters, and the Cary region, located near the state's capital city of Raleigh, receives nearly 12 million visitors annually.

“As one of North America's renowned outdoor retailers, they have a strong reputation for quality products and services that will serve Cary's active and fit community well. Their leadership in environmental stewardship will be a great fit with Cary's sustainability initiatives," Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht said in the release.

The store also would include a showroom for boats built by Tracker Marine Group.

Bass Pro operates its sole North Carolina store in Concord, which is about 140 miles away from its planned Cary facility. According to the release, more than 120 million people will visit Bass Pro's 77 stores in the U.S. and Canada this year.[[In-content Ad]]
