Springfield-based outdoor retailer Bass Pro Shops put in motion plans for a sixth store in Tennessee.

The 85,000-square-foot Outpost store would anchor the Wolftever development in East Ridge, Tenn., near Chattanooga. The location joins other developing stores at the Memphis Pyramid and in Bristol, as well as three previously opened stores, according to news release.

Bass Pro projects 100,000 vehicles will pass the East Ridge store en route to outdoor activities in the Appalachian Mountains, nearby lakes or the Tennessee River, according to the release.

“We are always pleased to see economic development taking place in our city, but when it’s a company with the superior reputation and potential impact of Bass Pro Shops, it is especially significant," East Ridge Mayor Brent Lambert said in the release.

Bass Pro, which operates 85 stores and marine centers in the U.S. and Canada, projects 116 million visitors this year, according to the release. Bass Pro currently operates Tennessee stores in Memphis, Nashville and Kodak.
