Bass Pro Shops has put in motion plans for a sixth store in Canada.
The 145,000-square-foot Outdoor World store would be an anchor for Tsawwassen Mills, a 1.2-million-square-foot mall under development in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. The project is reportedly the first enclosed regional shopping center to be built in Vancouver in 25 years, according to a news release from the Springfield-based outdoor retailer.
“This will be our fourth project with developer Ivanhoe Cambridge, and we are grateful to them for selecting Bass Pro Shops to be one of the premier anchor tenants in this new retail development," Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris said in the release.
Bass Pro has partnered with Ivanhoe Cambridge on existing stores in Toronto and Calgary, as well as a planned store at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Bass Pro also operates Canadian stores in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Rocky View, Alberta, and has plans for a store in Kanata, a suburb of Ottawa.
The Tsawwassen Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is designed to include an Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill, the nautical-themed dining and bowling concept, and is slated to open in 2016, according to the release.
Bass Pro operates 83 stores and Tracker Marine centers in the U.S. and Canada.
