Bass Pro Shops has been selected to anchor a 453-acre development in Sayreville, N.J., a city bordering the state of New York and about 30 miles from Manhattan.

The 200,000-square-foot Outdoor World is scheduled to open in 2015 at the 8 million-square-foot Luxury Point, a mixed-use property under development that would include a 1.2 million-square-foot mall, 723,000 square feet of entertainment destinations, 2,000 residential units, office space, hotels and two marinas, according to a news release.

“We are excited about this location and very grateful to developer Brian O’Neill and his family for selecting Bass Pro Shops to be the premier anchor tenant in what may well be one of the most exciting new retail developments in the world,” Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris said in the release.

Luxury Point developer O'Neill Properties Group is completing remediation work and plans to start construction this fall, according to NJBiz.com.

Bass Pro, which according to Bloomberg has annual sales of at least $2.6 billion, anticipates the store will be its highest sales volume facility when completed. Some 15 million people live within a 50 mile radius of the location, and the developers are expecting 30 million visitors annually, according to the release.

Bass Pro operates 58 stores in the U.S. and Canada and has another 21 planned.
