Bass Pro store to anchor 181-acre Daytona development

Bass Pro Shops has been tapped as an anchor tenant for a 181-acre development adjacent to Daytona International Speedway.

The 70,000-square-foot Outpost store in Daytona Beach, Fla., is one of two tenants - along with Cobb Theatres - contracted as staples of the mixed-used development dubbed One Daytona, a project announced this week by the International Speedway Corp. and Atlanta-based Jacoby Development Inc., according to a news release

ISC, which owns the land, expects up to 1.4 million square feet for retail, dining and entertainment, 2,000 movie theater seats, 660 hotel rooms, 1,350 residential units, 567,000 square feet of additional office space and 500,000 square feet of commercial and industrial space. The developers plan to move forward with the project within the next six to 12 months, according to officials.

"Our goal with One Daytona is to create a vibrant year-round destination that will serve as a new gateway to our hometown," ISC CEO Lesa France Kennedy said in the release. "(Bass Pro and Cobb Theatres') involvement further elevates the reputation of our project and demonstrates the high-caliber entertainment, shopping and dining establishments we plan to attract."

The Outpost project brings Springfield-based Bass Pro's planned store count to six in Florida. It currently operates six stores in the state.
