Bass Pro Shops has extended a long-term financing contract with GE Capital.
Springfield-based Bass Pro, a customer of GE Capital's commercial distribution finance program for over 25 years, signed a deal extending its inventory financing program through 2018, according to a news release.
Bass Pro would use the undisclosed amount of capital to stock its 84 stores, marine centers and network of independent dealers with boats from its manufacturer, Tracker Marine Group.
”On behalf of the more than 20,000 Bass Pro Shops associates and the over 200 independent Tracker, Nitro, Tahoe and Mako dealers, we are looking forward to many years of growth and success along with GE,” Bass Pro founder and CEO John Morris said in the release. “We have trusted the leadership of GE Capital for over 25 years to help us become a better company.”
Bass Pro President Jim Hagale added the capital would help the company fund new store development across the U.S. and Canada.
The outdoor retailer is listed as Forbes' 105th largest private company in America. As of December, its revenue was roughly $4 billion, according to
Forbes.
GE Capital's CDF program provided some $34 billion in financing to over 30,000 dealers and 3,000 distributors and manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada last year, according to the release.
