In a federal lawsuit, Bass Pro Shops is accused of not ordering enough alligator meat and breaching its contract with a Louisiana seafood distributor.
The lawsuit says Bass Pro agreed to buy at least 150,000 pounds of alligator meat a year from Big Pop's Fresh Louisiana Seafood LLC.
The companies had signed a four-year food service contract in August 2016. According to the suit, Bass Pro bought 283,432 pounds of alligator meat since then, short of the 600,000 pounds it was supposed to in the terms of the deal.
Big Pop's claims $75,000 in losses and is seeking damages.
