Nearly a year after announcing it, Bass Pro Shops is set to open a new store this month in northeast Minnesota.
A grand opening event scheduled May 21 marks the official launch for the Outpost store in Duluth, with normal business hours to start the following day, according to a news release.
The store spans 70,000 square feet in the Duluth suburb of Hermantown, with access from U.S. Highway 53. Features include a 10,000-gallon aquarium with native species through a partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
The grand opening event is slated to feature appearances from professional fishermen Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, Mark Zona and Charlie Evans, among others, according to the release.
The Duluth store would be Bass Pro's fifth in Minnesota. Bass Pro's website lists 178 stores under its brand and that of Cabela's in the United States and Canada.
