Bass Pro Shops is working toward a 2015 opening for its third store in California.
The 145,000-square-foot Outdoor World is going up in San Jose, the state's third largest city with roughly 1.7 million resident anglers, according to a Bass Pro Shops news release.
The new store would anchor the 350,000-square foot Almaden Ranch retail development.
“This highly visible location is easily accessible and will allow us to bring Bass Pro Shops’ low prices and famous friendly, expert service to the many area sportsmen and women, as well as the millions of visitors to the area each year," Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris said in the release.
The store also would include an Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill, an underwater-themed restaurant and bowling alley.
Bass Pro, which operates two California stores in Manteca and Rancho Cucamonga, estimates 120 million people will visit is 77 stores and marine centers in the U.S. and Canada this year, the release said.
