Bass Pro Shops is closing out October with two store announcements.
The Springfield-based outdoor retailer is planning to launch a new store in Victor, New York, and open a previously announced location in Odessa, Texas.
New York
Bass Pro is adding its fifth store in New York with the launch of an Outpost location in Victor.
Located in the greater Rochester region, the 90,000-square-foot store is expected to employ more than 120, according to a news release. A late 2026 opening is targeted for the store at the Eastview Mall.
“We are incredibly proud to welcome a retailer of this caliber to our community,” said Jack Marren, Victor town supervisor, in the release. “The addition of Bass Pro not only revitalizes a key retail space at Eastview Mall but also strengthens our reputation as a top destination for shopping and leisure. We are excited about the economic impact and increased foot traffic this will bring to this area."
Texas
Bass Pro has scheduled an Oct. 29 grand opening for its newest location in Odessa, Texas.
The 100,000-square foot Outdoor World store marks Bass Pro's 18th location in Texas, according to a news release. Features include a 20,000-gallon aquarium, and professional fishermen Roland Martin and Jimmy Houston are among celebrities scheduled to be at the opening.
Bass Pro in 2024 announced its plans for a store in Midland, Texas, had shifted to a larger format location in Odessa, according to past reporting.
Bass Pro's website lists 180 retail stores under its name and that of Cabela's in the United States and Canada.
