At Springfield-based Bass Pro’s 34th store, shoppers today can register to win a Go Kart, a rifle, a fishing reel and fishing rods. Famous fishermen Rick Clunn and Denny Brauer, with TV host Jimmy Houston, will be on hand today to offer angling tips and techniques.
On display through Sunday is Bass Pro Shops driver Martin Truex Jr.’s NASCAR racecar and, through Saturday, two Budweiser Clydesdales. On Friday and Saturday, shoppers will have the chance to win their own fishing show with the Outdoor Channel.
The 40,000-square-foot store offers outdoor gear, apparel and footwear, as well as a gift and nature center, outdoor art, fish and game mounts and fishing and hunting artifacts. Free classes will be available for learning outdoor skills.
The store will have a 16-slip operating marina, guide service, boat rental and boat service center. A 6,800-square-foot floating White River Fish Co. restaurant with 4,000 square feet of outside dining will open at a later date.
